Plamokojo Replaceable-Blade Single-Edge Nipper

Most model nippers are disposable in practice. The edge dulls, cuts start whitening the plastic, and the whole tool goes in the bin. This one is built the other way round: the cutting edge is a separate tungsten blade that lifts out of the jaw and swaps for a fresh one. A blunt edge costs you a blade, not a nipper.

How The Blade Swap Works

The blade seats in a machined slot on the upper jaw, held by a single fixing. Back it off, lift the old blade out, drop the new one in, retighten. Under a minute at the bench with no special tool. Alignment is set by the slot rather than by your hand, so a fresh blade cuts exactly like the first one did on day one.

Why The Blade Is Tungsten

Tungsten holds a fine edge far longer than the hardened steel used in most hobby nippers, so the intervals between swaps are long. Paired with the single-edge design, where a flat anvil face backs the blade instead of a second cutting edge, it shears the gate rather than pinching it: less stress whitening, a smaller nub, noticeably less sanding before primer.

What This Changes

You stop rationing your good nipper. There is no reason to reach for a blunt spare on tough runners or to baby the edge on thick gates, because restoring full sharpness is a one-minute job rather than a new purchase. Over a few years of building, a tool plus a handful of blades costs a fraction of replacing nippers outright.

Care

Made for polystyrene runners and soft resin. Cutting metal, wire or photo-etch will chip the tungsten edge. Store spare blades in their case and keep them away from children; the edges are genuinely sharp.
