If a paint bottle has been on the shelf for a given time, or if you have mixed paints in a cup, paint flakes may appear.

This is quite troublesome if you then pour that paint into the airbrush cup, as it can easily clog the nozzle and prevent the airbrush from spraying, creating splatters, etc.
