DSPIAE Panel Liner Pen

A precision dip pen for panel lining scale models and Gunpla — designed to deliver wash or panel liner fluid exactly where you need it, with far more control than a brush and far less cleanup than flooding an entire panel.

The DSPIAE AT-PL uses capillary action to flow color into recessed panel lines on contact. Position the tip at the start of a line, apply light pressure, and the fluid travels the groove by itself. No overloading, no wide brush strokes spreading across flat surfaces — just clean, consistent lines.

Important: no ink included

This pen does not come with any panel line fluid. You dip the stainless steel nib into your own wash or panel liner solution — enamel, acrylic, or oil-based all work. Compatible with Tamiya Panel Line Accent Color, Ammo by Mig washes, Zurc, and any similar product. Dip until the fluid covers the nib's breath hole, wipe off the excess on the bottle rim, then apply.

How to use it

1. Dip the nib into your panel line solution until it covers the breath hole on the nib
2. Lightly wipe the nib against the bottle rim to remove excess fluid
3. Position the tip precisely at the start of the panel line
4. Apply gentle pressure — capillary action draws the fluid into the groove automatically
5. Lift the tip carefully and let dry completely
6. Clean up any overflow with a cotton swab dampened with the appropriate thinner
7. Clean the nib with a brush and washing liquid after each session — do not let fluid dry on the nib

Why it works better than a brush

A brush tip flexes and spreads, making it easy to deposit too much fluid over a wide area. The AT-PL's rigid stainless steel nib stays precisely at the point of contact, transfers only as much fluid as the capillary action requires, and protects your surrounding paintwork from accidental contact. The extended nib length also keeps your fingers away from the fluid while working.
