It's not uncommon, as you are building your model, to find yourself in any of these situations:

• The manufacturer has molded their sprues so that they are valid for different variants of the same tank or aircraft and, in order to attach an assembly for a specific variant, you need to drill the holes where the support pins are meant to lock the pieces in place.
• You are super detailing your model or adding extra accessories or figures for a vignette or diorama.
• You want to apply some realistic weathering effects like bullet holes in your model as if it had seen real action.

For all these cases, you need a drill, but in this case, an electric one can carry too much power and offer lower precision, so you risk ruining your model.

This is the perfect alternative: with the hand drill, you have total control of the point where you want to create a hole, and also you can control the strength you apply to make it smoother, and even correct mistakes in placement or orientation before you've pierced your model.
