1/35 Photoetched Panther Ausf G Anti Air Armor w/Brass Bolts
By the end of WWII, the Luftwaffe had completely lost control of the skies, both in the Eastern and the Western fronts. This meant that one of the advantages their late war tanks had, their thick frontal armor, was rendered useless because they fell prey to close air support planes that attacked from above.
And the top plates were always the thinnest and the weakest. So they came up with improvised solutions like adding extra armor plates in the horizontal surfaces of the tanks.
This little-known kit designed for the Panther G implements exactly that, the extra armor plates -produced to replicate the real thickness- the Germans added to their medium tank to try to make it more resilient.
The kit needs assembly using CA glue and painting.
