Splashing sludge Stencils

Reusable metal stencil for adding realistic mud and sludge splash weathering to tanks, vehicles, and military models. Creates the kind of dirty, field-worn look that real combat vehicles accumulate after days of operating in muddy terrain — without the trial and error of freehand mud effects.

The 80×80mm stainless steel pattern delivers natural-looking splash shapes consistently across multiple builds. Works across all common scales: 1/16, 1/24, 1/32, 1/35, 1/48, 1/72, and 1/100.

Works great for:

• Tank and AFV weathering — mud splash on lower hulls, fenders, and tracks
• Truck and supply vehicle weathering — road grime and muddy field operations
• WWII Eastern Front, modern desert, and tropical conflict dioramas
• Diorama base detail — adding splash effects where vehicles meet terrain
• Wargame terrain — weathered vehicle bases for skirmish games

Key features:

• Reusable metal stencil — 80 × 80mm
• Compatible with 1/16 to 1/100 scales
• Stainless steel — clean with water or thinner
• Apply with airbrush, sponge, or hand-paint

How to use:

1. Hold the stencil against the area you want to weather (lower hull, fenders, tracks)
2. Apply mud-colored paint with an airbrush, sponge, or stippling brush
3. Lift the stencil and reposition for natural irregular distribution
4. Layer different mud tones (light, medium, dark brown) for depth
5. Seal with a matt topcoat once dry

For full vehicle weathering, combine with our paint chipping stencil for surface damage and rain-stained rust streaks for water-driven weathering.
