Hand-finished dry shrubs for diorama and vignette creation — natural-looking branched material that works as small bushes in larger scales, or as full trees when combined and painted at smaller scales. Each box contains 10+ pieces with enough variety for multiple builds.

Where pre-formed plastic bushes have uniform shapes that read as artificial, these dry shrubs have the irregular, organic branching that real vegetation always shows. Each piece is unique — no repeated shapes, no obvious factory-made silhouettes.

Two main uses:

  • Standalone bushes: use as-is for 1/72 and 1/48 dioramas — they read as small to medium shrubs
  • Scratch-built trees: combine multiple pieces, add foliage scatter, paint, and you have full-sized 1/35 scratch-built trees

Works great for:

  • 1/72 dioramas — finished bushes, undergrowth
  • 1/48 dioramas — small to medium shrubs
  • 1/35 dioramas — building blocks for scratch-built trees
  • Wargame terrain — fast-build scenic elements
  • Model railway layouts — varied trackside vegetation
  • Fantasy and twilight scenes — bare branches in atmospheric settings

Key features:

  • 10+ dry shrubs per box
  • Hand-finished — each piece varies for natural realism
  • Compatible with 1/72 to 1/35 scales
  • Can be used as-is or combined into larger structures
  • Attach with PVA glue or super glue
  • Paintable for color customization

Tips for building trees:

  1. Choose 2-3 dry shrub pieces with complementary shapes
  2. Glue them together at the base to form a single composite trunk
  3. Trim or bend smaller branches as needed for natural shape
  4. Prime with grey or brown acrylic primer, then paint with bark tones
  5. Apply foliage scatter (static grass, leaf material) to the branches with diluted PVA glue

To add foliage to your dry shrubs, see our miniature tree leaves (4 seasonal colors) for scatter material, and combine with 3mm dark green static grass for ground cover around the base.
