Photoetched brass set of weapon straps, slings, and tie-downs for 1/35 US Army WWII infantry — designed specifically for the iconic American small arms of the Second World War: the M1 Garand rifle, Thompson submachine gun, BAR, and other US Army infantry weapons.
Real weapon slings were made of leather or canvas — items that at 1/35 scale need to look thin to read as believable. Plastic kit parts are usually too thick at this scale. Photoetched brass straps end up at correct in-scale thickness, with crisp edges that paint up beautifully in leather brown or olive drab canvas tones.
Works great for:
- 1/35 US Army WWII infantry figure detail-up — Western Front, Pacific, North Africa
- M1 Garand rifle sling detailing
- Thompson submachine gun strap detailing
- BAR (Browning Automatic Rifle) sling and equipment
- Diorama figure groups — US Army squad and platoon scenes
- D-Day, Bulge, and Pacific theatre WWII dioramas
What's included:
- Slings for US Army infantry weapons
- Tie-downs and equipment straps
- Buckles for belt and carry detail
Key features:
- Photoetched brass — fine in-scale thickness
- 1/35 scale — sized for standard military figure modeling
- WWII-period US Army weaponry focus (M1 Garand, Thompson)
- Assemble with CA glue (super glue)
- Requires painting
How to use:
- Cut individual parts from the brass fret with a sharp hobby knife or PE scissors
- Bend straps slightly to follow the curve of the figure or weapon
- Prime with metal primer or acrylic primer
- Paint with leather tones (brown) or olive drab canvas for slings; metallic for buckles
- Glue carefully with small drops of CA glue
