If you are building scale models or Gunplas, you may want to make equidistant markings or holes following different patterns. They may be needed to engrave locking mechanisms, simulate rivets, or install conduits, fairings, etc.
If we are doing it over a curved surface like a plane fuselage, the body of your Gunpla, or a tank turret... we cannot use a regular ruler.
